Book Marketing

The Authors Marketing Powerhouse

I am going to make a suggestion for the future direction of this site: one that symbolizes the concept of 'Authors Helping Authors' . Of course we all want to get our names and published book titles before the public, but beyond promoting our books, our true I believe our focus here should be to help one another. In the spirit of carrying this concept forward, could we begin by having each member of this group share one constructive idea that you have found helpful in marketing your book(s)? We all love Don McCauley and this site, or we wouldn't be here, but there are other helpful venues out there as well. If we each give one helpful tip that you have tried and found successful, and pass it on to the group, we will then have 40 personally recommended resources.

My recommended resource for the group is: WWW.FILEDBY.COM.
You can add audio, video, images and text about your book so it is a quite versatile site.
Here is the link to what I have posted there so far, but I will do more as time allows.

I am looking forward to helpful suggestions from the rest of you.
Please take the time to do this and we will all be the richer for it.
Thanks,

I'm surprised there haven't been any replies to this post! I've just set up my details on  http://www.librarything.com/ which is 'a home to your books' and a community for 1, 400, 000 book lovers. Don't know how it'll pan out but it's another avenue to get your name out there.

Lois, I've just been to FiledBy and get the message that their site certificate has expired and I shouldn't proceed to join. Are you currently using them and is everything in order with them?

Regards

Sarah
