Erica Colt, to the entire outside world is a picture of perfection. She is beautiful, well mannered, easy going and has a firm religious background. It would seem from a young age that Miss Colt had grown to be quite popular, but what people didn't realize was all of her fawned traites didn't matter to her, for inside she was tormented. For she held a secret that she was forced to keep throughout the duration of her life. This secret that she held deep inside would soon seep out and eventually ruin all that people adored about her, erica was being abused. It started out as nothing, a gentle grasp of the hand, a playful swat from behind, but in time grew to be much more and even more terrifying and it would eventually affect every aspect of her social life.
She would find herself often lonely with no one to turn to, confide in, or even date for fear that her mate may find out about her troubled past. This seclusion that she grew to realize was her life was fine with her and she adapted well, that was until she had fallen in love....then everything changed. While she was holding back the truth of her past, her boyfriend was walking on eggshells around her for fear of saying, doing, or acting a certain way that would set her off. This soon ruining the relationship and leaving poor Erica to ride out the storm yet again.
Although she'd not enough to deal with already, Erica would soon find herself facing a different problem, one much different then the abuse, but just as damaging. While Erica was off courting boys and doing things that teenage love does, her best friend Samantha was falling in love with her.It was Samantha who was one of the few Erica had trusted and it was her obsession with the young maiden that would almost ruin her life. She would succeed in taking away all of Erica's past troubles, but never thinking that in doing so in the manner she had it took her future to.
It was my hope that in writing A Maiden's Hell that it would get people thinking about abuse also about true love and if it really does last forever.
